36 years and 50 million dead babies later, Roe v. Wade continues…

January 22, 2009

babyBack in the fall of 1972 I was a senior in high school in Michigan. On the ballot that Nov. 7 was a state initiative to legalize abortion, Proposal B. Voters overwhelmingly rejected it. Although I was too young to vote, I campaigned for it. A similar pro-life was taken the same day in North Dakota. It seemed that democracy was working. A pro-life electorate was defending the unborn.

The next January 22, 1973 — 36 years ago today —  the U.S. Supreme Court imposed its Roe v. Wade decision, overturning every state abortion law in the country. Absurdly, it even overturned the laws in states with legal abortions, such as California and New York. Roe created a new “right” to let an abortinoist trick a mother into letting him kill her baby. Life, decency, and democracy all were aborted.

Dissenting Justice Byron “Whizzer” White branded the edict “raw judicial power.” His dissent was joined by Justice Rehnquist.

The other 7 “justices” signed off onto Roe. I still remember the names of these demons: Blackmun, the dummy who wrote an  opinion so incoherent even abortion backers were shocked by its foolishness; Brennan and Douglas, who put him up to it because they were known as leftist radicals and didn’t want to become the locus of criticism; Powell; Stewart; Burger, the new “conservative” Republican chief “justice”; and Black, who started his career as a Ku Kux Klan member.

“Roe” actually was Jane McCorvey, who was “forced” to have her baby before the decision came down. She later admitted that she lied about getting pregnant from a rape and recanted her involvement in the case. She also had a religions conversion and last year supported for president pro-life Rep. Ron Paul, also an obstetrician who delivered 5,000 babies.

So the case itself was based on a fraud. Yet it stands as above the Constitution.  As written, the Constitution clearly allows the states to decide such matters as punishment for murder, robbery, rape, and abortion. There is no “right” to get an abortionist to cut out your child. The whole thing was made up because the court hated democracy almost as much as it hated babies.

What should have happened

After the 1973 Roe edict, the 7 pro-abort demons should have been immediately impeached by the House, removed by the Senate, tarred-and-feathered by the people, and exiled from the country. That didn’t happen. The country’s “leaders,” such as Republican President Nixon and the Democrats who controlled Congress, were not at all displeased with the ruling.

For one thing, it was a solution to the “Population Bomb” foolishness then popular, in which we were promised that there would be mass starvation in the 1970s and 1980s unless population was reduced sharply. One way to do that was to make sure populations were not born in the first place.

Of course, there was no mass starvation in the 1970s and 1980s. Rather, more and more countries embraced capitalism, which produced vast new food sources and rising standards of living. Specifically, China and India, which had suffered periodic famines and mass starvation for millennia, embraced capitalism and now are powerful capitalist countries with obesity problems.

But the “Population Bomb” damage was done. In particular, the First World — Europe, America, and Japan — saw birth rates decline sharply from abortion. Europe and Japan’s populations began dropping. America’s population is increasing still only because of immigration. The native stock’s abortions have cut births below replacement levels.

It’s now clear that legalized abortion means your country has committed suicide.

Democrats once were pro-life

babyIt’s not remembered much now, but Democrats once were the pro-life party. They base was working-class, unionized “ethnics” (mostly Catholics) in the North, evangelical and fundamentalist Protestants in the South, and blacks in most places — each a part of the strong Democratic coalition FDR assembled in 1932, and each a strongly pro-life group. But in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Democratic Party was taken over by leftists, such as George McGovern, who were pro-aborts. They chased the active pro-lifers out of their party.

Republicans also pro-aborts

The active pro-lifers ended up in the Republican Party. Until then, the rich folks who ran the party, such as the Rockefellers, were pro-aborts. But they needed the pro-lifers to add to their numbers so they could start winning elections. So the pro-lifers were welcomed and were promised that abortion soon would be ended. They were told that Republican presidents would appoint pro-life justices.

So here we are, 36 years after Roe. During those years, Democrats ran the White House just 12 years, or 1/3 of the time. Republicans ran the White House 24 years, or 2/3 of the time. Democrats, sure enough, appointed pro-abort “justices,” two of them. Republicans, as they promised, appointed pro-life justices, 4 of them. But Republicans also appointed 4 pro-abort “justices.”

The current court is 5 pro-aborts (3 Republicans,  2 Democrats) and 4 pro-lifers (all 4 Republicans).

So, we never made it to a majority of pro-lifers. For 36 years, Republicans totally betrayed the pro-life movement. They led us along with promises that, if we just supported them one more time, they would appoint that elusive 5th pro-life justice. It all was a con. So Republicans are more responsible for abortion remaining legal than Democrats, who at least are implementing their promises.

Obama: President Abortion

babyNow Obama is president and will appoint 2-3 new justices, all of whom will be pro-aborts. If he gets a second term, there will be more.

That means that abortion is about as permanant a public policy as you can get.

Obama’s administration is “abortocratic,” one writer calls it.  He also promised Planned Parenthood (really, Murderhood) that he would sign the misnamed “Freedom of Choice Act.” According to one analysis:

F.O.C.A. will assist adult males in keeping their rape of our minor daughters hidden. It will force faith-based hospitals and health care professionals to provide abortions, it will fund organizations that perform and promote abortion to our children, it will force employer health insurance plans to cover abortion. Here’s the worst. F.O.C.A. will make partial-birth abortion legal again (killing a full term baby).

America aborted

babySince 1973, 50 million American babies have been aborted. About 40% have been black, even though blacks are 12% of the population. So the black abortion rate is almost 4 times that of everybody else. It means 20 million dead black babies. Isn’t Obama supposed to be in favor of civil rights for blacks?

Also, in California, more than half of abortions are of Latino babies.

In effect, we have mostly white abortionists profiting off the murders of blacks and Latinos. The Ku Klux Klan and the National Socialist German Workers’ Party couldn’t have come up with a more racist policy.

I was a hopeful teenager back in 1973 — hopeful that we could overturn Roe. Now at 53 that hope long has gone, the victim of numerous Republican betrayals.

In the intervening 36 years, America has changed so much that it hardly is itself anymore. Abortion aborted America. What survives is something horrible and difficult to live in. It’s all the more painful if you love America greatly, as I do. It’s like seeing your wife kidnapped into a white slave ring and being unable to do anything about it.

Well, we can pray. That’s all that’s left.

California budget charade becomes more comical as Hilton splits

January 22, 2009

Even if you don’t live in the Pyrite State, I hope you’re enjoying the show of our state budget charade. The budget deficit is $42 billion, probably higher. Tax increases are inevitable — and won’t work. Higher taxes will only make matters worse.

The Democratic majority and Gov. Arnold (R-Austria) long have plumped for tax hikes. Republicans have held out, but now are cracking. The GOP will exchange tax hikes form some cosmetic spending reforms.

None of it matters. Spending will have to be cut sharply, at least $20 billion a year — and every tax rate increase actually will reduce tax revenues. That’s because business keep fleeing Taxifornia. If you’re not here, they can’t tax you — at least not as much.

The latest company to leave is Hilton Hotels.  Their excuse:

Because it is in the Eastern time zone, Washington is better suited for Hilton’s international operations, which include corporate hubs in Memphis, Dallas, Orlando and the United Kingdom, Gonda said. The region also has a stronger pool of hospitality industry leaders to recruit from, she said. Major competitors such as Marriott, Starwood, Choice and Wyndham are located there.

Rubbish. Washington, where I lived for 5 years in the 1980s, has terrible weather — it’s a humid swamp in the summer, cold and snowy in the winter. No sensible person would exchange for balmy California. Except that taxes are cheaper there in either Virginia or Maryland. And, as the article indicates, Hilton now effectively is being run by the Blackstone investment group. Their HQ is in New York City, so what do they care if Hilton’s execs must be moved to D.C.? Blackstone also can sell Hilton’s expensive Beverly Hills digs.

The article also notes:

Southern California has bid farewell to several Fortune 500 companies’ headquarters in the recent decades, including Arco, Lockheed, Fluor and Times Mirror. Last year, Computer Sciences announced that it would move its headquarters from El Segundo to Falls Church, Va., to be closer to Washington, and Calabasas-based Countrywide Financial Corp. was taken over by Bank of America Corp.

Moving to D.C. also makes it easier to influence the mammoth U.S. government’s policies, such as bailouts. Ex-Prez Bush (how I love to write “ex-” in front of his name!) socialized a huge part of the economy. Now Obama will socialize even more. To get the money stolen from taxpayers, it makes sense to live near those doling out the dough.

Finally, the Hilton company may be leaving Southern California, but we’ll always have Paris.

Racist benediction at Obama’s Inauguration

January 20, 2009

Last year, Obama ditched the racist Rev. Jeremiah Wright, even though Wright was Obama’s pastor and close friend for 20 years, and gave Obama the phrase “the Audacity of Hope.” So Wright couldn’t be at the Inaugural.

Instead, Obama brought in the Rev. Lowery, who gave the benediction:

We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right,

Notice that only whites are singled out for committing sins, and have yet to “embrace what is right.” Everyone else is sinless, but the victims of whites.(Although Asians, according to Lowery, apparently have a mood disorder; but that’s not a sin.)

I saw Obama chuckling during those words.

Met the new Oppressor, same as the old Oppressor

January 20, 2009

obamaI watched President Obama’s Inaugural Address and expected the 1.4 million worshippers there to start drinking Kool-Aid like at Jonestown. Maybe it’ll be passed out later — to all 300 Americans.

In Obama’s speech, I didn’t hear anything showing he would reduce even a little the immense oppressions imposed by the government he now heads. Instead, he’s going to increase them. So, there’s no real change from Bush. The only change will be in emphasis:

The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

That’s his version of the Declaration of Independence‘s “all men are created equal” — that is, have equal rights, although certainly not equal abilities or accomplishments. But in Obama’s version, government will force you to make sure “all are equal.”  That means even more quotas, set-sides, and discrimination than under Bush — and not just for races, but genders, “sexual orientation,” handicaps, etc. It means the further stratification of the society.

Oh, and politicians always invoke “God” right before they’re going to violate one or more the 10 Commandments. It’s amazing there aren’t more atheists.

Government isn’t the problem, government is the solution

He’ll also continue Bush’s oppression of vastly expanding the government. Bush increased domestic spending faster than any president since LBJ 45 years ago. Obama promised:

What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them – that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works – whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.

Translation: Bush’s increases in government’s size and powers will continue.

Obama indicated no way out of the economic Depression Bush bequeathed to him. Instead, we’re going to just get more of the disease: government.

Meddle

Obama also indicated he’ll be a willing tool of the Empire:

that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace….

To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world’s resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.

Translation: America will continue to keep meddling everywhere, all the time. He also promised to “roll back the specter of a warming planet” — even though the earth now is cooling.

But fighting global “warming” will mean vast new powers for the government over the economy, and special contracts worth trillions to those favored by Obama.

I heard nothing in his speech that showed even a hint that Americans’ ancient liberties would be restored, instead of further abridged.

Finally, as he took the Oath of Office, the usually smooth-talking Barack mangled the words Bush-style. Maybe the team on the new TV show “Lie to Me,” who detect deception in speech patterns and body language, can explain to us what it all means.

Republicans still deluded about Bush…

January 19, 2009

bushIn a day Bush finally will be gone from office.

Yet Republicans remain deluded about him, still supporting his disastrous wars, inflation, deficits, debt, torture, and shredding of the Constitution. His policies were so bad they also brought us Obama and whatever major evils he will start imposing on us tomorrow.

Republicans will recover only when — or if — they totally reject Bush, Bushism, his Neo”conservative” brain trust, and Neoconism.

So far, they’re staying in the bunker with him. Writes Christopher Manion, once an aide to the late, great Sen. Jesse Helms:

NR [National Review] In A Dream World, GOP In The Tank

Posted by Christopher Manion at January 19, 2009 09:10 AM
Robert Musil beautifully described the “second reality” created by the ideologue who flees the real one. In that spirit, NR dutifully embraces the Memory Hole:

“How the GOP responds to the Obama agenda will largely dictate its ability to recover in 2010 and onward.”

The truth is this: the GOP will not recover until it truthfully responds not to Obama’s agenda, but to Bush’s record.

But truth-tellers might not be welcome there. For instance, according to a Gallup poll taken after the disastrous (for the GOP) 2006 elections, 40% of Republicans said they had “lost confidence” in Bush because of his push for amnesty. And Bush has admitted that the Iraq War damaged the GOP (but not his legacy).

Yet those hopeful of a GOP recovery must confront this anomaly: even though Bush’s approval rating earlier this month stood at a historic low of 22%, 57% of those (apparently few) still willing to call themselves Republicans still approve of him.

Will those bitter-enders punish Republican truth-tellers for admitting that Bush was a disaster? One must bear in mind that they’re the most likely primary voters. So those honestly trying to resuscitate the GOP’s cadaver will have to wade through a barrage of “The Cheney” from the diehards.

Thus the prospects for an honest GOP recovery do not look good. On the other hand, the prospects for an Obama disaster look to be quite promising.

Great new political site

January 16, 2009

My former colleagues at the editorial page of The Orange County Register just put up a great new site, FreedomPolitics.com.

It features libertarian reporting, insight, and links on Orange County, California, America, and in partibus infidelium.

They criticize Bush for being

Bush: The Great Regulator

To hear Democrats tell it, the past eight years have been a binge of dangerous deregulation. Veronique de Rugy argues Bush was anything but a “hands off” regulator.

Reason: Bush’s Regulatory Kiss-Off

And the site ridcules the Feds’ latest bank bailout (with your tax money or inflated dollars):

Federal Bank of America

Following a new bailout of the bank on Thursday, the US Government is the largest shareholder in Bank of America.

Two weeks after closing its purchase of Merrill Lynch at the urging of U.S. regulators, the government cemented a deal at midnight Thursday to supply Bank of America with a fresh $20 billion capital injection and absorb as much as $98.2 billion in losses on toxic assets, according to people involved in the transaction.

The bank had been pressing the government for help after it was surprised to learn that Merrill would be taking a fourth-quarter write-down of $15 billion to $20 billion, according to two people who have been briefed on the situation, in addition to Bank of America’s rising consumer loan losses.

The second lifeline brings the government’s total stake in Bank of America to $45 billion and makes it the bank’s largest shareholder, with a stake of about 6 percent.

Check it out.

Pray for record cold, snow for Obama’s inauguration

January 15, 2009

chicago snowGlobal “warming” obviously is a hoax. Today, Jan. 15, 2009, Flint, Mich. has record cold temps. It’s 19 degrees below zero Fahrenheit, way below the previous record on this date of 10 degrees in the negative set in 1914.

Chicago has record snowfall, with record cold expected. That’s where Obama is from.

Yet in 5 days, Obama will give his Inaugural Address, which will warn of “global warming” and “climate change” — or words to that effect — and propose massive new regulations and government programs to lower the temperature. Maybe he should say, “I promise you, Flint Michigan, 19 degrees below zero isn’t cold enough! Next year, it’ll be 29 degrees below zero!”

So, we should pray that Obama’s Jan. 20 Inaugural is met with record cold and snow. That also would discourage the expected 2 million people from coming to his Inauguration to celebrate “change you can believe in” — really delusion you can dupe yourself with.

A fine novelist named William Gerhardie wrote a non-fiction book titled “God’s Fifth Column: A Biography of the Age 1890:1940,” in which he points out that, just when you think things are too bad or ridiculous to tolerate, God comes along and does something to make a joke of the current thinking and turn things around. Maybe a cold snowstorm on Jan. 20 would be that, maybe it wouldn’t; and maybe it’ll be a record warm day. Who knows. I’m not making a prediction.

But, in this case, I’ll have the “audacity of hope” to pray for inclement weather for Washington, D.C. on Jan. 20.

We’re sweltering out here in California…

January 15, 2009

california beachGo ahead, make fun of us out here in California. We have…

* America’s worst governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger-Shriver-Kennedy, who has spent the past 5 years destroying this once-great state.

* The worst state Legislature in the nation, run by Democrats who make Kim Jong Il look like Ronald Reagan.

* A $60 billion state budget deficit.

* The highest taxes in the nation.

* Looming tax hikes.

* A crumbling infrastructure.

Yeah, but the last 4 days in Southern California we’ve been enjoying temperatures of from 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit. I’m ready to install an air conditioner.

In California, the government may tax you out of a job. You may be living on the street, eating government cheese (paid for by somebody else’s taxes). But you can still go down to the beach in the middle of January in your bathing suit and get a suntan.

So, denizens of Bad Weather states and Canadian provinces, as you suffer another cold spell — it’s minus-40 degrees F in Minnesota, or 125 degrees colder than out here — keep our balmy weather in mind as you gloat, as you ought to, over the foibles of California’s corrupt, dysfunctional, idiotic government, including not just its elected officials but — this being a democracy — its voters.

We’ll be lounging on the beach in 80-degree weather trying to avoid a sunburn.

“Curse of Plaxico Burress” defeats NY Giants in playoffs

January 12, 2009

Yesterday the Super Bowl champion and top-ranked New York Giants lost in the playoffs to the Philadelphia Eagles. During the game, one of the TV commentators noted that New York had to stick more to a running game because they didn’t have Plaxico Burress, their star receiver, who had “self-destructed.” So, because they couldn’t pass more, they lost.

Actually, it was the Giants who “destructed” Burress.

As you may recall, Burress accidentally shot himself in a New York  night club. He is being charged with illegal possession of a gun — even though the 2nd Amendment protects the right of any American to “keep and bear arms.”

Even though his injury was minor and he could have come back to play, the Giants suspended him for the rest of the year and criticized him. They should have backed him and attacked the government of New York state and city for their oppressions. Imagine how that would have fired up the Giants!

Since then, the Giants have lost four of five games, including the playoff.

I predicted the disaster at the time, calling it “the Cure of Plaxico Burress.”

The only way the Giants can rid themselves of the Curse is to start backing Plaxico. Sign him to a long contract, attack the government, and defend him in court.

The don’t want a Big Apple version of the Motor City’s Curse of Bobby Layne, under which, this year, the Lions finished 0-16.

Marxism-Leninism-Bushism: Bush again admits he’s a socialist

January 12, 2009

bushWith just 8 more days left in his anti-American administration, Bush again admitted he favors government control of the economy — socialism:

I readily concede I chucked aside my free-market principles when I was told … the situation we were facing could be worse than the Great Depression. [But] we’ve taken extraordinary measures to deal with frozen credit markets [that] have helped thaw the credit market.

Tongue-tied to the end.

Actually, it’s his previous socialist policies — a $5 trillion bad war in Iraq, paid for with deficits, debt, and inflation — that caused a bad recession. And his “extraordinary measures” are turning a bad recession into the Bush Depression.

Bmarx leninush has become the biggest socialist in history — much bigger than Marx, Lenin, or Mao. Lenin and Mao, in power, socialized relatively small economies compared to the gigantic capitalist American economy Bush has socialized.

Socialists throughout the world, especially on American university campuses, should put him up there in the socialist pantheon with Marx and Lenin.

It’s Marxism-Leninism-Bushism.
